Network Coding, introduced in , promises significant theoretical capacity gains in multicast networks. Practical implementations in underlay networks are however quite complex in practice and performance is subject to many network variables. In this paper we model a network coding function at the data link layer of an 802.11g wireless node and evaluate the network coding performance for certain well known network coding topologies. We evaluate the throughput in a simulated ad hoc wireless network using the OPNET® Modeler and show the effect of various network parameters on the fraction of network coded data

A management framework for regional and school-based networks for principals in diverse contexts Smith, André (North-West University (South Africa) , Potchefstroom Campus, 2016)Networks can be defined as a system or process that involves different cooperating individuals or groups that are interconnected. Furthermore, networking can be described as the activity of exchanging ideas, information ...
Metacognitive locale : a design-based theory of students' metacognitive language and networking in mathematics Jagals, Divan (2015)The purpose of this study was to design a local theory explaining the relationship between metacognitive language and networks as constructs of a local instructional theory in the context of a fourth-year intermediate ...
An optimisation approach to improve the throughput in wireless mesh networks through network coding Van der Merwe, Corna (North-West University, 2011)In this study, the effect of implementing Network Coding on the aggregated throughput in Wireless Mesh Networks, was examined. Wireless Mesh Networks (WMNs) are multiple hop wireless networks, where routing through any ...
