The article discusses a study which investigated the realization of free primary education for all in Lesotho since its introduction in 1999. Topics discussed the persisting problems of free, universal primary education in Sub-Saharan Africa and several efforts made by the Lesotho government to expand education since the advent of independence in 1966. Also discussed is the impact of inequality in society on universalizing access to education.
