Over the past decade applications of speech technologies for development (ST4D) have shown much potential for enabling information access and service delivery. In this paper we review two deployed ST4D services and posit a set of dimensions that pose a conceptual space for the design, development and implementation of ST4D applications. We also reflect on these dimensions based on our experiences with the above-mentioned services and some other well-known projects.en_US
